Dabu printed silk/cotton indigo dyed shawl S_159

This Chanderi (silk/cotton mix) shawl was printed using the dabu process where mud and other ingredients are printed onto the fabric using hand carved wooden blocks. This forms a resist to the dye and creates the pattern. It is a very long and complicated techniques and seems to be only found in parts of Rajasthan, India.
It measures 115 x 246cm and is dyed with indigo.
