by Indian Artisan
$85.00 / Sold Out
This amazingly warm muffler was hand knitted by artisans living in the chilly Himalayan regions of India where people know how to keep warm.
Firstly, the wool was hand-spun and then dyed with Tesu flowers. It is also known as the 'flame of the forest' which bloom in the spring and is the flower of the Palash tree. It is believed to possess medicinal properties and is also good for the skin.
The color extracted from Tesu flowers was used to play Holi in ancient India and it is believed that Lord Krishna played Holi with Radha using colors made from Tesu flowers.
The coloured yard is then hand knitted into this beautiful muffler.
The artisans receive fair wages for their work.
The muffler measures a generous 220 cm long and is soft enough to wrap several times around the neck.
