Pashmina and wool shawl in natural colour #75
by Indian Artisan
$165.00 / On Sale
Pashmina + wool = soft + warm + classy. This timeless shawl comes from Kullu, Himachal Pradesh in the Indian Himalayas and retains the natural cream colour of the fibres and is totally unadorned save for the delicate cut fringes.
Handwoven by a member one of the oldest weaving co-operatives in India which, since 1944, has developed many benefits for its members including schools, health clinics and fair wages. The cooperative has been awarded a gold medal in a national award from the Indian Government Ministry of Textiles.
You will probably never see this quality in retail stores in the west. I have travelled to the mountains on grimy trains and rickety buses to find this treasure to present it here at Kasu. It measures a generous 110 x 230cm - all the better to keep you warm and snuggly when days are colder.
There is only one of these handsome shawls, so hurry if you prefer classic unadorned beauty in some of the world's finest and most precious fibres.
